Thanks for all the Greetings from you to us here in Africa - we left Lake Malawi and journeyed to the border town of Chipata Zambia. We were having some problems with the 4X4 camper we were pulling - had run into the same problem at the start of the expedition with one of the other vehicles - a fault in the axel that caused the wheel to fall off the vehicle - we did not

...

want that replicated as - it would leave us stranded - we still have 7 days left of the expedition and 1500 miles as we journey to the place where Dr David Livingstone's heart was buried in Africa - some of the terrain is so rough that we can only drive at 40 km per hour - it is over very rough roads - any way that's what expeditions are about - it's like life - it has bumps in the road and you have to adjust and repair - however the Lord is with you and he helps you overcome all the plans of the wicked one. Any way cannot wait to update you on all the happenings of the expedition and what we have learnt so far - the Lord has been teaching us so much through this journey - it's amazing - what an amazing man Dr Livingstone was

Update What a 3 day journey its been leaving Harare Zimbabwe Wednesday 7.00 am on day 10 - drove across Zimbabwe through the border town

crossed at the Forbes Border Post then drove on to Beira - to a bible school that has had a long term relationship with overland missions - Phil & Sharon Smethurst - we arrived at about 5pm after set up c

amp - had supper and then conducted a meeting in the Bible School - the fire fell - this is a church planting school that has planted 33 churches in 7 provinces in 8 years - run by Robbie Housen - originally from Australia - her son was killed in a car wreck and husband died from complications of blood clots in the lungs after an eye operation - she is relentless and runs the whole mission by her self along with the help that has been raised up - amazing lady - we left Beira at around 9 am - headed to Chupanga - right on the Zambezi Delta - we camped on a road in the middle of a forrest - after setting up camp as we lined the road in single file - built a fire in on the road removed scorpions and spiders - some huge from our perimeter - had supper and went to sleep  - Woke up at 6 am - left for Chupanga the grave site of Mary Moffat - Dr David Livingstone's wife - we were at the grave side and recorded for tv - saw the house were the Livingstone's set up a missions base - was a slave house that house the slaves before they were dispersed around the world - remember slavery is still in effect with 27 million slaves in the world today that we know of and 1.5 million people a year being taken into slavery. We were moved as this Woman of God had given her life for the gospel - died at 41 years of age of malaria and here we were being bitten by mosquitoes at the grave site of mary Moffat - we then left Chupanga and dronce to Ciaia Mozambique to re-fill our Diesel in all the vehicles of the convoy - at the gas station I noticed a little 12 year old boy that had been locked in a cage and found out that he hasd stolen and the police were coming to take him - I took an interpreter and we led him to the Lord I then instructed him he must serve God and not steal anymore - we filmed the event - when the police arrived they wanted me to come to the police station because they were unhappy that we had filmed the event - and I told them no - I would get my interpreter and that we would explain - the were adamant - then they left me alone and demanded the camera crew go to the station they wanted to view and erase the tape - they went and erased some of the tape - however the police got to view the whole plan of the gospel and salvation - it's amazing the camera guys must have erased something else because we still have all the footage :) LOL we then headed for the town of Morrambula where we would find a pontoon ferry that would take us across the Churri River - we arrived 30 minutes before the ferry closed - we crossed the river and raced to the border hoping to cross into Mozambique however the border control had closed 90 minutes before we got their - Mozambique would let us pass for $200 US $ at 8 pm however malawi would not let us come in - so we pitched camp right at the border - 10 yards from the boom - of the border control - woke up at 6 am and then cleared customs and went through the border into Malawi - Led several people to the Lord and gave out bibles - such hunger for God - amazing - they were flocking to us - even prayed with customs official in malawi and gave him a bible - then we journeyed over the roughest of conditions to Blantyre - arriving at 2.30 pm - I will post later today about the happenings of last nights meeting - I am headed to the am services here in what has been an impromptu meeting - that we did not even know we would have 4 days ago - all I can say the fire fell the altar filled and a fire is being ignited in Malawi - Love and blessings - keep us in your prayers - from the city of Blantyre malawi - all our Love

at a Bible School in Beira Mozambique - the students were so hungry, the fire fell - we leave in the am for Marroumeu - Northern Mozambique to the site where Mary Moffat was buried - the

...

wife of Dr Davis Livingstone. Might conduct a meeting tomorrow night right on the delta of the Zambezi River - then Friday am on to Blantyre Malawi - Speaking Saturday night in one of the largest churches in the nation - the city of Blantyre was named after Livingstone's home of Blantyre Scotland - this will be a high honor - I tell you we are flat out on this trip hoping to rest a few days next week on the shores of lake Malawi - please keep us in your prayers - if you feel led to be a part financially with us on this mission - please go to revival.com and sow something online as many of these places, because of where we are, are not able to do anything - however the meetings are amazing and the results will be and are eternal

Managed to upload 16 basic pics - from day 10 - this is just a few to give you an overview - Phil & Sharon ministered along with Andre and Jenny and Adonica and myself to a bunch of hungry students here in Beira Mozambique - it is now Day 11 we are heading on up to Chipanga - Northern Mozambique - will send a text tonight to RMI office they will update facebook - so we can keep you posted on Day 11 - will be able to update pics when we reach Blantyre Malawi late Friday PM - love and Blessings to all from Africa - Pastors R & A

Last night was such a strategic meeting as the power of God fell I preached a specific word for the nation - then the fire hit the place Adonica shared her testimony.

A medical Dr was hit by the power of God - he said that he felt clean and

...

new and that he did not have a care in the world - he said he had never experienced such Joy in all of his life.

Many leaders were touched and changed. the altar was filled as hundreds responded to salvation, and rededication - it was glorious.

Adonica & I have been totally touched and blessed by the precious Zimbabwean people - Zimbabwe you are in our Hearts - I am posting this not knowing when I will have access to the internet again - might be tonight or tomorrow - or Friday Night ?????? who Knows.

Day 6 - woke up at 6.30 am - had breakfast and did the final packing for the journey - we left the campsite at 8 am. The monkeys led a planned attack to see if they could scavenge anything left over by us at the campsite. We then drove to the town of Makuti - filled up with fuel and headed south to Harare - the meeting begins Sunday Night and Ends thru Tuesday night - we then had a eventful drive down south as we were dodging trucks - oversized vehicles hauling mining equipment - potholes, and every other thing imaginable - The thing about Zimabwe is that it was once the breadbasket of Africa - some of the most fertile land now lies barren as farms were seized the tractors that once ploughed fields are now running as taxi's. Arrived into Harare at 3 pm - checked into hotel and conference center where the meeting is being held - it's Phil's 42 birthday - had supper with Pastor Efiel and Elna Nukamuri & chairman of the board of directors and his wife of the hotel chain we are staying in - had to deal with no water, in rooms, then no hot water, no flushing toilets, I thought I was back in the bush :) LOL - welcome to Africa. We are transitioning from Rural Missions in Central Africa to Urban Missions in Central Africa - different yet similar. Tried to get on the Internet last night - could not send pics - was so tired - went to bed at midnight - looking forward to Sunday.

Day 5 woke up at 8 am went tiger fishing while they made b'fast - we did washing and hung up a washing line - ran the generator and charged the batteries and did repairs - this is a Livingstone camped here some 150 years ago - he explored this area and found the Vadoma tribe 2 toed people - did filming - with Andre Roebert and Overland Missions, with Phil Smethurst a beautiful day here on the banks of the Zambezi with the sounds of the wild on every side. Rested in the afternoon then had a early supper at 4 - Phil pulled a meeting together at the compound with the game wardens - at Mana Pools - about 35 men, women and kid's showed up - we we dodging hyenas just to get into the compound to conduct the service. - Sharon Smethurst sang - let freedom reign in this place - then Phil led a song in the Shona language - I then preached on the Love of God - gave the altar call - all responded - then we prayed for the sick - all claimed an instant healing - their faith had made them whole - we announced the formation of a church - Phil will send in someone from Overland Missions for a week to get them baptized - we gave them each bibles and blessed them ! Who would believe that out of a two night stop a church would be planted - amazing - went back to the camp sat around the fire and listened to the sounds of the African night - nothing like it !!
Started packing up to get ready for our early morning departure for Harare - 8 hours south! Went to bed around midnight !

Day 4 saw us have a breakfast at 9 am they two who stayed with the 4x4 until it was recovered joined us - the recovery vehicle took a total of 14 hours in total until they arrived back at rapid 14. After B'Fast we bought supplies then we drove to Makuti town where we filled up with gas and then we went down into the escarpment until we reached the entrance of Mana Pools Game Reserve - this is to be our home for 2 nights and 3 days until we head south to Harare - we drove into the park - and it took us 2 1/2 hours from the gate to the Manna Pools main camp - we set up a lager - to ward off - Lions, Hyenas, Elephants, etc. One of the fun things I ended up doing was chasing hyenas with a million candle lamp - it was fun.

Day 3 saw us depart the overland missions base - rapid 14 on the Zambezi River - we journeyed - eastward Zimba, Choma, Pemba and then Mazebuka where we filled up with Diesel. and on to the town of Siavongo where we crossed the border into Zimbabwe and went on and crossed the Kariba Dam to the town of Kariba - we then camped at Mapani Bay Camp on the shores of Kariba - we built a lager and camped in a circle to ward off hippos and crocks, elephants and any other wild animals! We then had supper and retired for the night at 11 pm - after. A long days journey - footnote (about 20 km outside of Mazebuka we encountered a problem on one of our vehicles in the convoy when the wheel snapped off the 4x4 caravan of our camera crew - Phil had to call rapid 14 and Rod Westbrook and Renee and several others took 7 hours in the daff truck to recover the vehicle the others who stayed behind and they joined us the next am at tbe camp at Mopani on the shores of lake Kariba)

26th July 2010 Day # 1 Arrived Monday in Livingstone Zambia from East London after 8 Days of Glory - set up the camp with our 4x4 camper and the tent, groundsheet - so that we could work out any problems in the system - went into town to get supplies - came back to base camp - Overland Missions Base @ Rapid 14 on the Zambezi River - it's nestled 600 ft above the River on the top of the gorge - across the River is Zimbabwe - it's about 20 km from the town of Livingstone Zambia - where one of the 7 wonders of the world is located - the mighty Victoria Fall's named by Dr David Livingstone - the falls also known as the smoke that thunders - "Mosi O Tunia"

Day # 2 we were up b'fast at 8 am then I addressed the Overland Missions Students - spoke to them about submission to the Word of God and those that are in Authority over them. After that we then went to the Mkuni Kingdom Ceremonial site and met with the official in charge of the ceremony on the 2nd August with all the kings coming together in their annual celebration - we interviewed him and then went into the town of Livingstone and went to the Davis Livingstone museum - and filmed there several of the exhibits - included letters in his own handwriting - we then came back to base - got everything ready for an early departure in the am - we had a supper of steak and tiger fish - the tiger fish came straight out of the Zambezi River - we sat around the fire and ate supper.

With Day #1 and #2 behind us we are leaving base camp at 6 am in the morning - Wednesday 28th July - we are heading 580 km to Kariba in Zimbabwe - so the trek will take us west to east across Zambia and then crossing the Zambezi we will then set up camp on the shores of lake Kariba - probably have to chase the Elephants and Hippo"s off of our campsite - We are embarking on a 24 day trek across Central Africa "In the Footsteps of Livingstone" or known by the Africans as "Mutali"
