Which Church Are You? (DVD)
In the Book of Revelation 2 and 3 God writes a letter to the angel, or messenger, of seven different churches: Ephesus; Smyrna; Pergamos; Thyatira; Sardis; Philadelphia; and Laodicea. He concludes each letter with these words: "He who has an ear, let him hear what the Spirit says to the churches."' The Amplified Bible renders it this way: "He who is able to hear, let him listen to and heed what the [Holy] Spirit says to the assemblies (churches)."
This is not simply a message to the people in these seven churches, who lived thousands of years ago—this is a message for every one of us in this generation and every other generation before us and after us! We have a responsibility to ourselves and others to listen to and heed what the Spirit of God is saying to us: the Church; the Body of Christ. The Lord is coming back for a spotless and holy bride and it is vital that our hearts be found pure before Him. God is issuing us a challenge today to look into our heart and ask of ourselves the questions that He asks of us.
-Is Jesus my first love?
-Will I be faithful to the end?
-Do I have any idols in my life?
-Do I tolerate sin?
-Do I live what I say I believe?
-Have I kept God's Word and not been ashamed of Him or denied His Name?
-Am I hot, cold, or lukewarm?
