The Laws that Govern Prosperity

1. You must believe that it is God’s will for you to prosper.
a. Religious tradition – poverty mentality – enemy of success.
b. Lie of the enemy – God does not want you to prosper.
c. Wrong thinking – that God is trying to teach me something through lack.
d. Wrong believing – that prosperity will ruin you.
e. Proverbs 1:32 KJV – “For the turning away of the simple shall slay them, and the prosperity of fools shall destroy them.”
f. Some people are afraid that if they were blessed they would not serve the Lord.
g. Do not be covetous and you won’t have that problem.
h. Your life has one purpose - to glorify God.
i. God is glorified when His people prosper.
j. Job 36:11 KJV – “If they obey and serve him, they shall spend their days in prosperity, and their years in pleasures.”
k. Psalm 35:27 KJV – “Let them shout for joy, and be glad, that favour my righteous cause: yea, let them say continually, Let the Lord be magnified, which hath pleasure in the prosperity of his servant.” 

2. Make God your partner in life.
a. Matthew 7:7-11 – Father God gives good gifts to those who ask and seek.
b. James 1:17 KJV – “Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.”
c. John 10:10 KJV – “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”
d. Psalm 84:11 KJV – “For the Lord God is a sun and shield: the Lord will give grace and glory: no good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.” 

3. Get into the lifework that you feel God would have you in, or that for which you are best suited.
a. Proverbs 12:15 KJV – “The way of a fool is right in his own eyes: but he that hearkeneth unto counsel is wise.”
b. Proverbs 13:16 NKJV – “Every prudent man acts with knowledge, But a fool lays open his folly.” 
c. Proverbs 22:29 AMP – “Do you see a man diligent and skillful in his business? He will stand before kings; he will not stand before obscure men.” 
d. Proverbs 24:30-34 – Poverty comes to the slothful person.
e. God wants you to be a success for His glory.

4. Be unafraid in launching out into new ventures, at God’s directing, and to make the best of your opportunities.
a. Proverbs 19:21 AMP – “Many plans are in a man’s mind, but it is the Lord’s purpose for him that will stand.”
b. Proverbs 16:3 AMP – “Roll your works upon the Lord [commit and trust them wholly to Him; He will cause your thoughts to become agreeable to His will, and] so shall your plans be established and succeed.” 
c. Proverbs 16:9 AMP – “A man’s mind plans his way, but the Lord directs his steps and makes them sure.”

5. Follow the business principles taught in Scripture.
a. Romans 12:9-11 KJV – “Let love be without dissimulation. Abhor that which is evil; cleave to that which is good. 10 Be kindly affectioned one to another with brotherly love; in honour preferring one another; 11 Not slothful in business; fervent in spirit; serving the Lord.”
b. 1 Thessalonians 4:11-12 KJV – “And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.”
c. Proverbs 22:9 KJV – “He that hath a bountiful eye shall be blessed; for he giveth of his bread to the poor.”

6. Do unto others as you would have them do unto you.
a. Luke 6:31 KJV – “And as ye would that men should do to you, do ye also to them likewise.”
b. 1 Peter 5:1-4 – Feed the flock of God.
c. Do not take advantage of others; misrepresent; exaggeration; false advertising; dishonesty; covetousness.  

7. Have faith in God.
a. Mark 11:22-26
b. Hebrews 11:6 KJV – “But without faith it is impossible to please him: for he that cometh to God must believe that he is, and that he is a rewarder of them that diligently seek him.”

8. Seek first the Kingdom.
a. Matthew 6:33 KJV – “But seek ye first the kingdom of God, and his righteousness; and all these things shall be added unto you.”
b. Luke 12:15 KJV – “And he said unto them, Take heed, and beware of covetousness: for a man’s life consisteth not in the abundance of the things which he possesseth.”
c. Matthew 10:39 KJV – “He that findeth his life shall lose it: and he that loseth his life for my sake shall find it.”
d. Matthew 19:27-30 – one-hundred-fold return. 

9. Giving to others.
a. Luke 6:38 KJV – “Give, and it shall be given unto you; good measure, pressed down, and shaken together, and running over, shall men give into your bosom. For with the same measure that ye mete withal it shall be measured to you again.”
b. Proverbs 28:8 KJV – “He that by usury and unjust gain increaseth his substance, he shall gather it for him that will pity the poor.”
c. Proverbs 19:17 KJV – “He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the Lord; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.”
d. Proverbs 11:24-25 KJV – “There is that scattereth, and yet increaseth; and there is that withholdeth more than is meet, but it tendeth to poverty. 25 The liberal soul shall be made fat: and he that watereth shall be watered also himself.”
e. Your life has purpose – all for the glory of God.
f. 1 Corinthians 10:31 KJV – “Whether therefore ye eat, or drink, or whatsoever ye do, do all to the glory of God.”

10. Giving to God.
a. Proverbs 3:9-10 KJV – “Honour the Lord with thy substance, and with the firstfruits of all thine increase: 10 So shall thy barns be filled with plenty, and thy presses shall burst out with new wine.”
b. Malachi 3:10-11 KJV – “Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 11 And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.”
c. You don’t have to be rich to give to God.
d. You can start where you are, and as you prosper, you can give more.
