Foundation Scriptures:
Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment.  Hebrews 6:1-2 KJ

And these signs shall follow them that believe; In my name shall they cast out devils; they shall speak with new tongues; 18 .They shall take up serpents; and if they drink any deadly thing, it shall not hurt them; they shall lay hands on the sick, and they shall recover. 19 So then after the Lord had spoken unto them, he was received up into heaven, and sat on the right hand of God. 20 And they went forth, and preached everywhere, the Lord working with them, and confirming the word with signs following. Amen.  Mark 16:17-20 KJV

1. This is One of the Principle Doctrines of Christ.
a. 70% of the life and ministry of Jesus was healing the sick and casting out devils.
b. Under the Old Testament, the laying on of hands was used as a symbolic type and shadow of what was to come.
c. Old Testament patriarchs laid hands on their firstborn and prophesied by faith concerning their future.
d. The priest would lay hands on the scapegoat, transfer the people’s sin onto the goat, and then sent it out into the wilderness.
e. Deuteronomy 34:9 KJV – “And Joshua the son of Nun was full of the spirit of wisdom; for Moses had laid his hands upon him: and the children of Israel hearkened unto him, and did as the Lord commanded Moses."

2. Jesus had a Ministry of Laying on of Hands.
a. Jesus’ ministry began after He was baptized in water and filled with the Holy Spirit.
b. He was anointed.
c. Acts 10:38 KJV – “How God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil; for God was with him.”
d. Matthew 10:1 KJV – “And when he had called unto him his twelve disciples, he gave them power against unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of sickness and all manner of disease.”
e. Jesus commissioned them – He gave them power to do the works of God.

3. Bible Principles bring Bible Results.
a. We lay hands on people to transfer the anointing.
b. The purpose of the anointing is to destroy the works of the devil and do the works of God.
c. It is holy.
d. Do not play around with it.
e. Some people are laying empty hands on empty heads.
f. Reverence the anointing.
g. Reverence the Holy Spirit.

4. The Ministry of the Laying on of Hands.
a. Impartation.
b. T.L. Osborne said: If people can just hear my voice (preaching the Gospel) they will be changed.
c. I have always felt that if people would just listen to the Word and if I could have an opportunity to lay hands on them, they would be changed.
d. I received from the Lord a special anointing to minister to people by the laying on of hands.
e. By the direction of the Lord, I have kept my hands on people until they receive.
f. We lay hands on people to get them saturated in the anointing.
g. It is the anointing that destroys the yoke.
