I’ve found Peace & Life

Testimonies

I was a college student during the revival in the 90s. God touched me and changed the course of my life—nothing else mattered anymore, all I wanted to do from then on was serve Him. Ever since, I’ve been working full-time for churches and ministries in various support roles. Over time, things began to change. “Hot spots” went cold, wells ran dry, ministries/churches shut down, and we began to talk about the revival in the past tense. Years passed. I was still serving God, but hardly knew Him anymore. In July, I came to the last half of the Summer Campmeeting. It was the first time I had ever been to The River. The meetings were awesome, and I wanted so badly to have an encounter with God like I used to back in the 90s, but I was so dry and dead and distant that I might as well have been a non-believer.

On the Saturday night of Campmeeting, I responded to the altar call and rededicated my life to God. I can’t really explain what happened in me that night—but I was changed. I woke up the next morning singing, and I haven’t been the same since. Instead of emptiness and deadness, I have peace and life and a burning desire to know more and more of Him. Now I’m a student in the Worship School!  Two months ago, I never would have imagined that I’d be here. Now, I can’t imagine being anyplace else. I’m looking forward to the next nine months at RSW, and I am already planning to return for RBI next year. Thanks for being a place where the fires don’t burn out!
