Foundation scripture:

Blessed is the man that endureth temptation: for when he is tried, he shall receive the crown of life, which the Lord hath promised to them that love him. 13 Let no man say when he is tempted, I am tempted of God: for God cannot be tempted with evil, neither tempteth he any man: 14 But every man is tempted, when he is drawn away of his own lust, and enticed. 15 Then when lust hath conceived, it bringeth forth sin: and sin, when it is finished, bringeth forth death. 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning. James 1:12-17 KJV

1. God is a loving heavenly Father:

a. John 3:16-18 KJV – “For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. For God sent not his Son into the world to condemn the world; but that the world through him might be saved.”

b. Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV – “I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.”

c. All the good in the world is from God and the bad is because of the devil.

d. God wants us to choose life; to choose blessing; to choose Him.

Galatians 3:13-14 KJV – “Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.”

e. Galatians 3:29 KJV – “And if ye be Christ’s, then are ye Abraham’s seed, and heirs according to the promise.”

g. We are redeemed from poverty, sickness, and death.

h. Psalms 37:25 KJV – “I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.”

2. In order to be effective in your Christian life, you need to have a revelation of these three things:

a. Who your Father is – Abba – a loving Father.

b. Who you are – the righteousness of God in Christ.

c. Who your enemy is – the destroyer - a defeated foe.

d. John 10:10 KJV – “The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.”

3.  Faith begins where the will of God is known:

a. How can you believe God or trust in Him, when you think He is against you?

b. You have to spend time in His Word.

i. Joshua 1:8 KJV – “This book of the law shall not depart out of thy mouth; but thou shalt meditate therein day and night, that thou mayest observe to do according to all that is written therein: for then thou shalt make thy way prosperous, and then thou shalt have good success.”

ii. Psalms 1:1-3 KJV – “Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord; and in his law doth he meditate day and night. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth his fruit in his season; his leaf also shall not wither; and whatsoever he doeth shall prosper.”

iii. Psalms 37:4 KJV – “Delight thyself also in the Lord; and he shall give thee the desires of thine heart.”

iv. John 15:7-8 KJV – “If ye abide in me, and my words abide in you, ye shall ask what ye will, and it shall be done unto you. Herein is my Father glorified, that ye bear much fruit; so shall ye be my disciples.”

4. God is on your side – He is for you:

a. Romans 8:31 KJV – “What shall we then say to these things? If God be for us, who can be against us?”

b. 2 Corinthians 6:18 KJV – “And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.”

c. 1 John 4:4 KJV – “Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world.

d. Psalms 55:16 KJV – “As for me, I will call upon God; and the Lord shall save me.”

e. Psalms 56:9 KJV – “When I cry unto thee, then shall mine enemies turn back: this I know; for God is for me.”

f. Psalms 57:2 KJV – “I will cry unto God most high; unto God that performeth all things for me.”

g. Psalms 126:3 KJV – “The Lord hath done great things for us; whereof we are glad.”

5. One thing I know is that God is with me:

a. That changes everything.

b. He has made His home in you and me.

c. You and I are the temple of the Living God.

d. Greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world.

6. Believe today and walk in the light:

a. Confess:

 God is my Father

He loves me

He is on my side

He cares for me

His Word strengthens me

His Spirit empowers me.

He loves me
