The Baptism In The Holy Spirit — Part Two

Foundation Scriptures:
And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:1-4 KJV

1. Jesus is the One Who Baptizes Us in the Holy Ghost and Fire.
a. John the Baptist was a forerunner to the ministry of Jesus. 
b. Luke 3:16 AMPC ­— “John answered them all by saying, I baptize you with water; but He Who is mightier than I is coming, the strap of Whose sandals I am not fit to unfasten. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and with fire.”
c. Jesus said this:
d. Acts 1:5 KJV — “For John truly baptized with water; but ye shall be baptized with the Holy Ghost not many days hence.”

2. You will Receive Power.
a. You will receive power — boldness — to be a witness.
b. Acts 1:8 KJV — “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
c. Acts 1:8 AMPC — “But you shall receive power (ability, efficiency, and might) when the Holy Spirit has come upon you, and you shall be My witnesses in Jerusalem and all Judea and Samaria and to the ends (the very bounds) of the earth.” 
d. When the Holy Spirit comes on you, you will receive power — dunamis — force (literally or figuratively); miraculous power (miracle-working power); ability, efficiency, and might.
e. Holy boldness — no fear.
f. Before Jesus was crucified, Peter was afraid to admit he knew Jesus.
g. He denied Him three times.
h. After he was baptized in the Holy Ghost, he was no longer afraid to stand up for the Gospel.
i. He preached boldly.
j. Acts 2:14-19 KJV — “But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. 16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel; 17 And it shall come to pass in the last days, saith God, I will pour out of my Spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams: 18 And on my servants and on my handmaidens I will pour out in those days of my Spirit; and they shall prophesy. 19 And I will shew wonders in heaven above, and signs in the earth beneath; blood, and fire, and vapour of smoke:”
k. This is what happened on the Day of Pentecost.
l. 120 were filled; then 3000 were saved; then 5000 were saved.

3. Keep the Flame Burning.
a. This fire power comes from Heaven — from the Holy Spirit.
b. You need to keep fanning the flames in your own heart and life.
c. 2 Timothy 1:6 AMPC — “That is why I would remind you to stir up (rekindle the embers of, fan the flame of, and keep burning) the [gracious] gift of God, [the inner fire] that is in you by means of the laying on of my hands [with those of the elders at your ordination].”
d. Don’t let them die down. 
e. Don’t let them be blown out.
f. Continue to stir up your inner fire. 

4. Surge 2018. 
a. This coming Sunday we begin Surge 2018.
b. If you come hungry and thirsty you will be filled.
c. Receive the Baptism of the Holy Ghost ... and Fire.
d. This is critical for the hour that we are living in.
e. When the fire comes, there will be an urgency in your heart.
f. To tell the world — to shout it from the mountaintops.
g. Power for signs, wonders and miracles.

5. Don’t Miss Out.
a. Receive everything that God has for you.
b. Press in, receive all that He has promised.
c. May you have a personal Surge of the heavenly kind. 
d. May your life be forever changed, along with all those who come into contact with you. 
e. There is not much time left. 
f. There is no time to waste. 
g. Prepare yourself to receive now.
