Building a Household of Faith – Part Two

Foundation Scripture:
Except the Lord build the house, they labour in vain that build it: except the Lord keep the city, the watchman waketh but in vain.  Psalm 127:1 KJV
 

1. Blessed to be a Blessing.

a. Why would God bless you with a nice house that you are unable to use?
b. Acts 2:46 KJV – “And they, continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, did eat their meat with gladness and singleness of heart.”
c. Acts 5:42 KJV – “And daily in the temple, and in every house, they ceased not to teach and preach Jesus Christ.”
d. Acts 20:20 KJV – “And how I kept back nothing that was profitable unto you, but have shewed you, and have taught you publickly, and from house to house.”
e. Romans 16:5a KJV – “Likewise greet the church that is in their house.” 
f. 1 Corinthians 16:19 KJV – “The churches of Asia salute you. Aquila and Priscilla salute you much in the Lord, with the church that is in their house.”
g. Philemon 1:1-2 KJV – “Paul, a prisoner of Jesus Christ, and Timothy our brother, unto Philemon our dearly beloved, and fellowlabourer, 2 And to our beloved Apphia, and Archippus our fellowsoldier, and to the church in thy house.”
h. Colossians 4:15 KJV – “Salute the brethren which are in Laodicea, and Nymphas, and the church which is in his house.”  

2. Building a Godly Home.
a. Father; mother; children; grandchildren.
b. Single parent.
c. Adult children living with parents.
d. Atmosphere.
e. Foundation of the Word.
f. Safe haven.
g. Place of refreshing.
h. Place of rest and recharging.
i. Place of blessing and hospitality.  

3. Everyone Should Work and Contribute.
a. If you don’t work, you should not be entitled to eat.
b. 2 Thessalonians 3:10 KJV – “For even when we were with you, this we commanded you, that if any would not work, neither should he eat.”
c. No able-bodied person should be living off, or taking advantage of, other people.
d. No one should be lazy or idle. 
e. Proverbs 13:4 KJV – “The soul of the sluggard desireth, and hath nothing: but the soul of the diligent shall be made fat.”
f. You should look after your own family.
g. 1 Timothy 5:8 KJV – “But if any provide not for his own, and specially for those of his own house, he hath denied the faith, and is worse than an infidel.”  

4. Self-sufficient.
a. Everyone should not only be self-sufficient, but also able to help others.
b. 2 Corinthians 9:8 KJV – “And God is able to make all grace abound toward you; that ye, always having all sufficiency in all things, may abound to every good work.”
c. 1 Thessalonians 4:9-12 KJV – “But as touching brotherly love ye need not that I write unto you: for ye yourselves are taught of God to love one another. 10 And indeed ye do it toward all the brethren which are in all Macedonia: but we beseech you, brethren, that ye increase more and more; 11 And that ye study to be quiet, and to do your own business, and to work with your own hands, as we commanded you; 12 That ye may walk honestly toward them that are without, and that ye may have lack of nothing.”
d. Hebrews 13:16 NKJV – “But do not forget to do good and to share, for with such sacrifices God is well pleased.”
e. Philippians 2:4 NKJV – “Let each of you look out not only for his own interests, but also for the interests of others.”
f. 1 John 3:17 AMPC – “But if anyone has this world's goods (resources for sustaining life) and sees his brother and fellow believer in need, yet closes his heart of compassion against him, how can the love of God live and remain in him?” 
g. Galatians 6:2 KJV – “Bear ye one another's burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.”
h. Romans 15:1 KJV – “We then that are strong ought to bear the infirmities of the weak, and not to please ourselves.”  

5. From Your House to the World.
a. Jerusalem, Judea, Samaria, and the uttermost parts of the earth.
b. Acts 1:8 KJV – “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
c. It all begins at home.  

6. Our Vision – Tampa.
a. Our vision is to see Tampa shaken by the Holy Spirit.
b. Our goal – souls.
c. The Main Event – Sundays 10:00 AM. 
d. From house to house and beyond.
e. 125 HOJ’s.
f. Our goal – to see 240 HOJ’s in the next 12 to 18 months.
g. 2018 – The year of the more excellent way.
h. 20/20 vision.
i. 2018 – Permitting for property.
j. 2019 – Building.
k. 2020 – Possessing the land.  

7. Houses of Joy.
a. Each one, reach one.
b. Each one, teach one.
c. Make disciples – multiply.
d. Win the lost at any cost!
e. These houses are not just for fellowship.
f. They need to be for winning souls and making disciples.
g. Taking our streets and neighborhoods for Jesus.
h. It is time to see Tampa shaken.
