Foundation Scriptures:

But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light. 1 Peter 2:9 KJV

Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made the same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ. 37 Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do? 38 Then Peter said unto them, Repent, and be baptized every one of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins, and ye shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost. 39 For the promise is unto you, and to your children, and to all that are afar off, even as many as the Lord our God shall call. 40 And with many other words did he testify and exhort, saying, Save yourselves from this untoward generation. 41 Then they that gladly received his word were baptized: and the same day there were added unto them about three thousand souls. 42  And they continued stedfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship, and in breaking of bread, and in prayers. Acts 2:36-42 KJV

1. Called of God.

a. The early church was called to be the household of faith (Galatians 6:9-10).
b. The emphasis was on being a people and not places (buildings) hence they met in houses.
c. We are the elect of God.
d. We are chosen (handpicked) by God.
e. Called out of darkness into His marvelous light (1 Peter 2:9).
f. The miracle of salvation is not so much that we’ve chosen Him, but rather that He has chosen us.

2. Benefits of Answering the Call.

a. You’ve got to pick up the telephone and answer the call.
b. Jeremiah 33:3 KJV – “Call unto me, and I will answer thee, and show thee great and mighty things, which thou knowest not.”
c. Once you answer the call, you get:
   1.  Connected.
   2.  Committed.
   3.  Covered.
   4.  Commissioned.
d. The vision of the HOJ is a biblical method of you fulfilling the call of God on your life.
e. Acts 1:8 KJV – “But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.”
    1.  Shake Jerusalem – your community house by house.
    2.  Shake Judea – your city street by street.
    3.  Shake Samaria – your county and country.
    4.  Shake the world – uttermost parts of the world.

3. Connected.

a. He calls you alone but connects you to a kingdom of priests (1 Peter 2:9).
b. 1 Peter 2:5 KJV – “Ye also, as lively stones, are built up a spiritual house, an holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices, acceptable to God by Jesus Christ.”
c. Psalm 133 KJV – “Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity! It is like the precious ointment upon the head, that ran down upon the beard, even Aaron’s beard: that went down to the skirts of his garments; As the dew of Hermon, and as the dew that descended upon the mountains of Zion: for there the Lord commanded the blessing, even life for evermore.”
d. If you are more connected to people outside of the House of God than you are to people in the House of God, it could result in trouble, because sooner or later, relationships are tested.

4. Committed (Ezekiel 37).

a. Ezekiel calls the bones together.
b. They get connected and then committed.
c. Sinew comes on the bones, causing the bones to have mobility, and causes the bones not to pull apart under pressure.
d. Romans 5:5 KJV – “And hope maketh not ashamed; because the love of God is shed abroad in our hearts by the Holy Ghost which is given unto us.”
e. Romans 8:38 (paraphrase) – nothing shall separate us from the love of God which is in Christ Jesus.

5. Covered.

a. HOJ provides protection.
b. The apostolic leadership of The River church provides covering to protect the sheep (Ephesians 4:11).
c. Covered by the Blood.

6. Commissioned.

a. Called out of the world of sin.
b. Connected to the church HOJ family.
c. Covered by the Blood and spiritual leaders.
d. Commissioned to make disciples and win the lost.

Each one reach one.
Each one teach one.
Make disciples.
Win the lost at any cost.
