And God hath set some in the church, first apostles, secondarily prophets, thirdly teachers, after that miracles, then gifts of healings, helps, governments, diversities of tongues.

Having then gifts differing according to the grace that is given to us, let us use them: if prophecy, let us prophesy in proportion to our faith; 7 or ministry, let us use it in our ministering; he who teaches, in teaching; 8 he who exhorts, in exhortation; he who gives, with liberality; he who leads, with diligence; he who shows mercy, with cheerfulness. Romans 12:6-8 NKJV
1. A New Name. The Same Heart.
a. This Sunday, we are officially launching River Team, the Ministry of Helps at The River at Tampa Bay Church.
b. Formerly known as UNITE, River Team is more than a new name. It identifies who we are, and the part we play in this house. We are ordinary people, filled with the Holy Ghost, using what God has placed in our hands to serve His house, strengthen His people, and help bring in the harvest of souls.
c. God placed the Ministry of Helps in the Church on purpose. Every person has a part to play. From the first handshake in the parking lot to the final prayer at the altar, every act of service matters. Every seat prepared, child cared for, camera operated, meal served, and prayer prayed works together to help people encounter Jesus and advance what God is doing through The River.
d. River Team - Many people. Many gifts. One purpose: to see lives changed and the harvest come in.
2. The Seed of Serving, The Harvest in Your Life.
a. For God is not unrighteous to forget your work and labour of love, which ye have shewed toward his name, in that ye have ministered to the saints, and do minister.
Hebrews 6:10 KJV
b. When you step into River Team, you are not just filling a position. You are putting what God placed in you to work.
- Grow in Faith — Serving stretches your faith and develops your character.
- Find Your People — Serve shoulder to shoulder with believers who pray, encourage, and stand with you.
- Touch a Life — Your smile, prayer, encouragement, or act of service may be part of someone’s breakthrough.
- Discover What You Carry — Gifts are developed when you step out and use them.
3. The Blessings of Serving.
a. A faithful man shall abound with blessings... Proverbs 28:20 KJV
b. Serving in the house of God leaves a mark, not only on the lives you touch, but on your own. Here is what members of River Team have experienced:
