Foundation Scriptures:
Therefore, my beloved brethren, be ye stedfast, unmoveable, always abounding in the work of the Lord, forasmuch as ye know that your labour is not in vain in the Lord. 1 Corinthians 15:58 KJV
Be alert… stand firm in your faith… act like men and be courageous; grow in strength! 1 Corinthians 16:13 AMPC
1. Unshakable Reverence.
a. Resolve to walk in the fear of God.
b. Ecclesiastes 12:13 AMPC –– All has been heard; the end of the matter is: Fear God [revere and worship Him, knowing that He is] and keep His commandments, for this is the whole of man [the full, original purpose of his creation…].
c. Wisdom begins not with books, intellect, or philosophy, but with a holy reverence for God (Prov. 9:10).
d. To fear God is to honor His Word above opinion, culture, or pressure.
e. To resolve to walk in the fear of God means:
f. It is the foundation of wisdom (Prov. 1:7).
g. It produces obedience (Deut. 8:6; John 14:15; Phil. 2:12).
h. It guards against sin (Prov. 16:6).
i. It brings blessings (Ps. 85:9; 103:17; Prov. 19:23).
j. It leads to worship and intimacy (Ps. 96:9).
k. The man who resolves to walk in the fear of God, will live wisely, walk uprightly, lead righteously, and finish strongly.
2. Unshakable Discipline.
a. Resolve to rule the flesh.
b. Galatians 5:16 AMPC –– But I say, walk and live [habitually] in the [Holy] Spirit—responsive to and controlled and guided by the Spirit; then you will certainly not gratify the cravings and desires of the flesh (of human nature without God).
c. To resolve to rule the flesh means:
d. Recognize the conflict between flesh and spirit (Gal. 5:17).
e. Victory requires choosing the Spirit’s leading over fleshly cravings (Rom. 8:5).
f. Crucify the flesh daily—the cross is the place of victory over the flesh (Gal. 2:20).
g. Renew the mind through God’s Word (Rom. 12:2; Eph. 4:23; 2 Cor. 10:5)
h. Rely on the power of the Spirit for discipline (Acts 1:8; Gal. 5:22–25).
i. Victory over the flesh leads to life (Rom. 8:6; 8:14; Gal. 6:8).
j. A man who resolves to rule the flesh walks in true freedom, manifests a godly life, and becomes a vessel of righteousness in a corrupt world.
3. Unshakable Leadership.
a. Resolve to lead your household.
b. Joshua 24:15 KJV –– …but as for me and my house, we will serve the LORD.
c. A man cannot lead where he does not go; his life must be the model for his family.
d. To resolve to lead your household means:
e. Lead first by example (1 Cor. 11:1; Titus 2:7; 1 Tim. 4:12).
f. Provide for your household spiritually and naturally (Matt. 6:11; 1 Tim. 5:8; Phil. 4:19).
g. Set spiritual direction for the family (Eph. 6:4; Deut. 6:6–7).
h. Protect your household against compromise, deception, and the lies of the enemy (Prov. 24:3–4; Acts 20:28; 1 Pet. 5:8).
i. Govern with love and sacrifice (Eph. 5:25; Matt. 23:11; John 15:13).
4. Unshakable Speech.
a. Resolve to guard the tongue.
b. Proverbs 18:21 KJV –– Death and life are in the power of the tongue: and they that love it shall eat the fruit thereof.
c. Words carry authority and shape realities.
d. To resolve to guard the tongue means:
e. Recognize that it reflects what is in the heart (Matt. 12:34; Luke 6:45; Prov. 4:23).
f. Understand its creative power (Gen. 1:3; Prov. 18:21; Matt. 12:37).
g. Realize its potential to destroy if uncontrolled (Jam. 3:5; Prov. 11:13; Matt.12:36).
h. Discipline it by God’s Word and Spirit (Prov. 17:27; Ps. 141:3; Jam. 1:26).
i. Use it as a channel of blessing (Ps. 35:28; Eph. 4:29; 1 Pet. 3:10).
j. A man who resolves to guard his tongue will live wisely, bless others, and align his words with God’s will—becoming a fountain of life, not destruction.
5. Unshakable Purity.
a. Resolve to pursue holiness of heart.
b. 2 Timothy 2:22 KJV –– Flee also youthful lusts: but follow righteousness, faith, charity, peace, with them that call on the Lord out of a pure heart.
c. God calls His people to holiness in body and spirit.
d. To resolve to pursue purity means:
e. Purity begins in the heart (Matt. 5:8; 1 Sam. 16:7; Matt. 5:8; Ps. 51:10).
f. It requires separation from sin (1 Cor. 6:18; 1 Thess. 5:22; 2 Cor. 7:1).
g. It is strengthened by the Word of God (Ps. 119:9-11; John 17:17).
h. It is empowered by the Holy Spirit.
i. It leads to power and intimacy with God (Ps. 66:18; 1 John 3:21; 2 Tim. 2:21).
6. Unshakable Faith.
a. Resolve to stand firm in faith.
b. 1 Corinthians 16:13 AMPC –– Be alert and on your guard; stand firm in your faith… Act like men and be courageous; grow in strength!
c. To resolve to stand in faith means:
d. Faith is the foundation of pleasing God (Rom. 1:17; Heb. 11:6).
e. Faith comes by hearing the Word (Rom. 10:17).
f. Faith must be tested (1 Pet. 1:7; Jam. 1:3; Job 23:10).
g. Faith speaks and acts (2 Cor. 4:13; Jam. 2:17; Mark 11:23).
h. Faith secures the victory (Eph. 6:16; 1 John 5:4; 1 Cor. 15:57).
i. A man who resolves to stand in faith will live unshaken in storms, speak God’s Word with authority, and overcome every obstacle until he receives the crown of life.
7. Unshakable Finish.
a. Resolve to endure and finish strong.
b. 2 Timothy 4:7 KJV –– I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
c. Philippians 3:14 AMPC –– I press on toward the goal to win the [supreme and heavenly] prize to which God in Christ Jesus is calling us upward.
d. The Christian life is not a sprint, but a marathon requiring perseverance.
e. To resolve to finish strong means:
f. Run with endurance (Matt. 24:13; Rev. 2:10; Heb. 3:14).
g. Keep unwavering focus (Phil. 3:13; Heb. 12:2; Matt. 6:22).
h. Practice godly discipline (1 Cor. 9:25-27; Heb. 12:1).
i. Depend on God’s grace (Zech. 4:6; 2 Cor. 12:9).
j. Philippians 1:6 KJV –– He which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
k. Expect eternal reward (2 Tim. 4:8; 1 Cor. 15:58; Rev. 3:21).
