Walking in the Peace of God

Foundation Scripture:
Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid. John 14:27 KJV
1. God of Peace.
a. From Genesis to Revelation, the Bible reveals a God of peace who desires His children to live in peace.
b. Spiritual peace.
c. Peaceful heart and mind.
d. Peace in relationships with others.
e. The world is filled with storms, stress, and strife, true peace isn’t found in the absence of trouble, but in the presence of Jesus.
f. Psalms 29:11 KJV –– The Lord will give strength unto his people; the Lord will bless his people with peace.
2. Jesus, Prince of Peace.
a. Jesus is the Prince of Peace and the peacemaker.
b. Mark 4:39 KJV –– And he arose, and rebuked the wind, and said unto the sea, Peace, be still. And the wind ceased, and there was a great calm.
c. Jesus commanded peace to the wind and waves and they obeyed Him.
d. In His Name, you have authority over all the circumstances in your life.
e. The same Jesus who calmed the sea speaks to the storms in your life today.
f. Ephesians 2:14 KJV –– For he is our peace…
g. Jesus doesn’t just give peace—He is peace.
h. He reconciled us to God, destroyed the dividing wall between Jew and Gentile, and made peace by the Blood of His cross (Col. 1:20).
i. Jesus gives us His peace.
j. Philippians 4:7 KJV –– And the peace of God, which passeth all understanding, shall keep your hearts and minds through Christ Jesus.
k. Jesus gives a kind of peace that isn’t tied to circumstances.
l. It doesn’t make natural sense.
m. It’s higher, deeper, and more secure than anything the world can offer.
n. His peace guards both your heart and mind—your thoughts and feelings.
o. The more you abide in Him, the more peace becomes your atmosphere.
3. Walking in God’s Peace.
a. Set your mind on the Lord.
b. Isaiah 26:3 KJV –– Thou wilt keep him in perfect peace, whose mind is stayed on thee: because he trusteth in thee.
c. God gives us heart-peace; we must choose what we fix our mind on.
d. Walking in peace starts with a decision.
e. Fixing your thoughts on God’s character, His promises, and His presence silences fear and calms anxiety.
f. A distracted mind leads to a heart that is disturbed and troubled, but a mind fixed on Him leads to settled peace.
4. Let the Peace of God Rule in Your Heart.
a. Refuse to worry—pray instead.
b. Philippians 4:6 KJV –– Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.
c. “Be careful” means “don’t be anxious.”
d. Worry is peace’s greatest enemy, but prayer redirects your attention from the problem to the One who holds the solution.
e. When you cast your cares on Him, His peace flows in.
f. Colossians 3:15 KJV –– And let the peace of God rule in your hearts…
g. The word “rule” here means to act like an umpire.
h. Let peace be your guide.
i. If something disturbs your spirit, back away and seek the Lord.
j. Peace in your spirit is a signal from Heaven that you’re walking in line with God’s will and plan.
5. Pursue Peace with Others.
a. Romans 12:18 KJV –– If it be possible, as much as lieth in you, live peaceably with all men.
b. Walking in peace isn’t just personal, it’s relational.
c. Forgive quickly.
d. Avoid unnecessary strife.
e. Speak kindly.
f. Be a peacemaker, not a peace-breaker.
g. Matthew 5:9 KJV –– Blessed are the peacemakers: for they shall be called the children of God.
6. Be Spirit-Led, Not Emotion-Driven.
a. Galatians 5:22 KJV –– But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace…
b. Peace is a fruit of the Holy Spirit.
c. You don’t produce it—you yield to it; you cultivate it.
d. Walking in the Spirit means choosing quiet trust over chaos, humility over pride, self-control over reaction.
e. It means letting God have the final say.
7. You Can Walk in Peace.
a. Peace is not a personality trait—it’s a spiritual position.
b. Jesus made a way for you to live unshaken in an unstable world.
c. You can rest even when the storm rages.
d. You can forgive when wronged.
e. You can smile when others panic.
f. Why? Because His peace lives in you.
g. 2 Thessalonians 3:16 KJV –– Now the Lord of peace himself give you peace always by all means. The Lord be with you all.
h. Let that peace settle in your spirit.
i. Let it guard your heart.
j. Let it rule your decisions.
k. And let it overflow into every relationship.
l. You were made to walk in the peace of God—not just visit it occasionally, but live there daily.
