When Pentecost Comes

Foundation Scriptures:
But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth. Acts 1:8 KJV

And when the day of Pentecost was fully come, they were all with one accord in one place. 2 And suddenly there came a sound from heaven as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled all the house where they were sitting. 3 And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them. 4 And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance. Acts 2:1-4 KJV

1. Signs of Fire Power Being Poured Out.
a. Speaking in tongues.
b. Overcome; overwhelmed; intoxicated; infused.
c. Drunk—but not as you suppose.
d. This is that that was spoken by the prophet Joel. 
e. Acts 2:12-16 KJV — And they were all amazed, and were in doubt, saying one to another, What meaneth this? 13 Others mocking said, These men are full of new wine. 14 But Peter, standing up with the eleven, lifted up his voice, and said unto them, Ye men of Judaea, and all ye that dwell at Jerusalem, be this known unto you, and hearken to my words: 15 For these are not drunken, as ye suppose, seeing it is but the third hour of the day. 16 But this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel.
f. They received boldness to be a witness. 
g. They went out of the upper room and began to preach the Gospel.
h. At first, 3000 were saved and then later, 5000 more.

2. Permanent Evidence.
a. A compassion for the lost.
b. A deeper passion to win the lost.
c. John 4:35 KJV — Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? behold, I say unto you, Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
d. Power to be a witness; to win souls.
e. 1 Thessalonians 1:5 KJV — For our gospel came not unto you in word only, but also in power, and in the Holy Ghost, and in much assurance…
f. Power in prayer.
g. Acts 4:31 KJV — And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.
h. An understanding of the Word. 
i. 1 John 2:20 KJV — But ye have an unction from the Holy One, and ye know all things.
j. 1 John 5:20 KJV — And we know that the Son of God is come, and hath given us an understanding, that we may know him that is true, and we are in him that is true, even in his Son Jesus Christ. This is the true God, and eternal life.
k. Signs and wonders following you, wherever you go.
l. Romans 15:19 KJV — Through mighty signs and wonders, by the power of the Spirit of God; so that from Jerusalem, and round about unto Illyricum, I have fully preached the gospel of Christ.
m. Obedience to the call of God. 
n. Romans 10:13-15 KJV — For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. 14 How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? 15 And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things!
o. Yielding to the indwelling Presence.
p. Moved by the unseen One.
q. Ephesians 5:18 KJV — And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery; but ever be filled and stimulated with the [Holy] Spirit.
r. Romans 6:16 AMPC — Do you not know that if you continually surrender yourselves to anyone to do his will, you are the slaves of him whom you obey, whether that be to sin, which leads to death, or to obedience which leads to righteousness (right doing and right standing with God)?
s. Holiness.
t. Ephesians 4:23-24 KJV — And be renewed in the spirit of your mind; 24 And that ye put on the new man, which after God is created in righteousness and true holiness.
u. Romans 6:22-23 KJV — But now being made free from sin, and become servants to God, ye have your fruit unto holiness, and the end everlasting life. 23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
v. 1 Peter 1:15-16 AMPC — But as the One Who called you is holy, you yourselves also be holy in all your conduct and manner of living. 16 For it is written, You shall be holy, for I am holy.
