Foundation Scriptures:

The LORD is good to all: and his tender mercies are over all his works.
Psalm 145:9 KJV

 

O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him. Psalm 34:8 KJV

 

1. God Has Been Good.

a. If there is one testimony that every child of God can declare, it is this: God has been good.

b. Through every battle, every storm, every victory, every setback, every mountain, and every valley, God has remained faithful.

c. God’s goodness and faithfulness are not based on our circumstances nor dependent on our feelings.

d. God is good because that is His nature.

e. Psalm 119:68 KJV –– Thou art good, and doest good; teach me thy statutes.

f. The enemy would like you to focus on what has gone wrong.

g. But God wants you to remember what He has brought you through.

 

2. God Is Good—Believe It.

a. Many people know that God is powerful, holy, and righteous.

b. But how many truly believe He is good?    

c. Psalm 34:8 KJV –– O taste and see that the LORD is good: blessed is the man that trusteth in him.

d. James 1:17 KJV –– Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights.

e. Believe and know that God is a good God.

f. Believe that His Word cannot fail.

 

3. Believe His Word Above Every Other Voice.

a. God’s Word is eternal, it is settled, and it cannot fail.

b. Psalm 119:89 KJV –– For ever, O LORD, thy word is settled in heaven.

c. Isaiah 55:11 KJV –– So shall my word be that goeth forth out of my mouth: it shall not return unto me void.

d. Reports change; circumstances change; opinions change.

e. Whose report will you believe?

f. Be thoroughly convinced that God’s Word is true.

g. Stand on it; build your life on it; trust it completely.

 

4. God Always Gives us a Choice.

a. God has always placed before mankind a choice.

b. Deuteronomy 30:19 KJV –– I call heaven and earth to record this day against you, that I have set before you life and death, blessing and cursing: therefore choose life, that both thou and thy seed may live.

c. God does not make the choice for us, but He tells us what to choose.

d. The decision is ours: to choose life; blessing; obedience; faith.

e. No one else gets to choose for you: not friends; family; circumstances; or critics.

f. You choose—and your choice affects your future and the generations after you.

 

5. Obedience Is the Key.

a. Every command God gives is connected to either a promise or a warning.

b. God gives these instructions for our blessing and protection.

c. Isaiah 1:19 KJV –– If ye be willing and obedient, ye shall eat the good of the land.

d. Obedience positions us for blessing and opens the door to God’s promises.

e. God is faithful to those who trust and obey Him.

 

6. No One Can Curse What God Has Blessed.

a. People may oppose you, or criticize you, or speak negatively about your future.

b. But no one can reverse what God has established and blessed.

c. Numbers 23:8 KJV –– How shall I curse, whom God hath not cursed?

d. Numbers 23:20 KJV –– Behold, I have received commandment to bless: and he hath blessed; and I cannot reverse it.

e. No person can cancel God’s purpose, no enemy can stop God’s plan, and no curse can prevail over God’s blessing.

f. Numbers 23:23 KJV –– Surely there is no enchantment against Jacob, neither is there any divination against Israel.

g. If God has blessed you, stand firm.

h. If God has called you, stand confident.

i. The blessing of God is greater than every curse of man.

 

7. Do Not Allow Other People to Define Your Future.

a. Many people have had negative words spoken over them.

b. Words of limitation, failure, or defeat.

c. But if those words do not agree with God’s Word, you are under no obligation to receive them.

d. Isaiah 54:17 KJV –– No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn.

e. God’s Word is the final authority.

f. Not the opinions of man, society, or the enemy.

g. Only God’s purpose for your life will stand.

h. Isaiah 46:10 KJV –– My counsel shall stand, and I will do all my pleasure.

i. Trust God’s plan, His timing, and His purpose.

 

8. You Will Live and Not Die.

a. Psalm 118:17 KJV –– I shall not die, but live, and declare the works of the LORD.

b. The enemy may say it is over, but God says otherwise.

c. Your life is not in the hands of man—your life is in God’s hands.

d. Psalm 31:15 KJV –– My times are in thy hand.

e. Trust Him with your life, with your future, with your family.

f. Trust Him with every detail.

 

9. You Will Finish What You Have Started.

a. Philippians 1:6 KJV –– Being confident of this very thing, that he which hath begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.

b. God is not finished with you.

c. You will finish your course, you will complete your assignment, and you will fulfill the purpose for which God created you.

d. Like Paul, you will be able to say:

e. 2 Timothy 4:7 KJV –– I have fought a good fight, I have finished my course, I have kept the faith.
