Foundation scripture:

For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God. Romans 8:14 KJV

1. The number one way God leads you is through the inward witness.

a. Hearing God’s voice is critical – not only to survival, but also to revival, in the nations of the world.

b. Psalms 18:28 KJV – “For thou wilt light my candle: the Lord my God will enlighten my darkness.”

c. God does not lead you through your head – your thoughts.

d. He leads you only through your spirit man.

e. When God leads you in a direction, you might feel: a desire in your spirit toward that thing; a peace; a green light; or a go-ahead.

f. When you are heading in the wrong direction God will restrain you, you might feel: a check; a red light; or be grieved in your spirit.

2. The second way God leads you is through the inward voice.

a. Romans 9:1 AMP – “I am speaking the truth in Christ. I am not lying; my conscience [enlightened and prompted] by the Holy Spirit bearing witness with me.”

b. The voice of your spirit is your conscience.

c. Acts 23:1 AMP – “Then Paul, gazing earnestly at the council (Sanhedrin), said, Brethren, I have lived before God, doing my duty with a perfectly good conscience until this very day [as a citizen, a true and loyal Jew].”

d. Do you have a clear conscience or a guilty conscience?

e. John 8:9 KJV – “And they which heard it, being convicted by their own conscience, went out one by one, beginning at the eldest, even unto the last: and Jesus was left alone, and the woman standing in the midst.”

f. 2 Corinthians 5:17 KJV – “Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.”

g. Daniel 1:9 AMP – “Now God made Daniel to find favor, compassion, and loving-kindness with the chief of the eunuchs.”

h. Daniel 1:18-20 AMP – “Now at the end of the time which the king had set for bringing [all the young men in], the chief of the eunuchs brought them before Nebuchadnezzar. 19 And the king conversed with them, and among them all none was found like Daniel, Hananiah, Mishael, and Azariah; therefore they were assigned to stand before the king. 20 And in all matters of wisdom and understanding concerning which the king asked them, he found them ten times better than all the [learned] magicians and enchanters who were in his whole realm.”

3. How to know His voice.

a. The voice of God will always lead you in line with the Word of God.

b. Deuteronomy 30:10 KJV – “If thou shalt hearken unto the voice of the Lord thy God, to keep his commandments and his statutes which are written in this book of the law, and if thou turn unto the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul.”

c. John 10:27 KJV – “My sheep hear my voice, and I know them, and they follow me.”

d. Revelation 3:20 KJV – “Behold, I stand at the door, and knock: if any man hear my voice, and open the door, I will come in to him, and will sup with him, and he with me.”

e. Romans 8:14 KJV - “For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, they are the sons of God.”
