The Blessing of the Lord

Proverbs 10:22
KJV - The blessing of the Lord , it maketh rich, and he addeth no sorrow with it.
AMP - The blessing of the Lord — it makes [truly] rich, and He adds no sorrow with it [neither does toiling increase it].

The blessing that comes from the Lord makes you truly rich in every way. God’s blessing does not come with trauma or bitterness or sadness or regret. When God blesses you, He really blesses you. His blessing brings joy and fulfillment. You cannot force or manufacture God’s blessing either – God will bless you as you are obedient, submitted and grateful. Isaiah 1:19 says that “If you are willing and obedient, you shall eat the good of the land.”

When God commands His blessing on you, NO ONE can reverse it or undo it:

On that day they read in the Book of Moses in the audience of the people, and in it was found written that no Ammonite or Moabite should ever come into the assembly of God, 2 For they met not the Israelites with food and drink but hired Balaam to curse them; yet our God turned the curse into a blessing. Nehemiah 13:1-2 AMP

Balak could not conquer Israel because of the blessing and protection of God on Israel. Balak hired Balaam to curse Israel for money, but no matter how hard he tried, he could not do it. Balaam told Balak, “How can I curse those whom God has not cursed? How can I denounce those whom the Lord has not denounced?” (Numbers 23:8 NIV). Balak insisted that he curse Israel, but Balaam answered him, “God is not a man, that He should lie, Nor a son of man, that He should repent. Has He said, and will He not do? Or has He spoken, and will He not make it good? 20 Behold, I have received a command to bless; He has blessed, and I cannot reverse it.”  (Numbers 23:19-20 NKJV)

You can choose blessing:

Behold, I set before you this day a blessing and a curse — 27 The blessing if you obey the commandments of the Lord your God which I command you this day; 28 And the curse if you will not obey the commandments of the Lord your God, but turn aside from the way which I command you this day to go after other gods, which you have not known.  Deuteronomy 11:26-28 AMP

I call heaven and earth to witness this day against you that I have set before you life and death, the blessings and the curses; therefore choose life, that you and your descendants may live 20 And may love the Lord your God, obey His voice, and cling to Him. For He is your life and the length of your days, that you may dwell in the land which the Lord swore to give to your fathers, to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob.  Deuteronomy 30:19-20 AMP

God blesses those who choose Him and who choose to honor and serve Him:

Who shall go up into the mountain of the Lord? Or who shall stand in His Holy Place? 4 He who has clean hands and a pure heart, who has not lifted himself up to falsehood or to what is false, nor sworn deceitfully. 5 He shall receive blessing from the Lord and righteousness from the God of his salvation. Psalms 24:3-5 AMP

Praise the Lord ! Blessed is the man who fears the Lord, Who delights greatly in His commandments. 2 His descendants will be mighty on earth; The generation of the upright will be blessed. 3 Wealth and riches will be in his house, And his righteousness endures forever.
Psalms 112:1-3 NKJV

Bring all the tithes (the whole tenth of your income) into the storehouse, that there may be food in My house, and prove Me now by it, says the Lord of hosts, if I will not open the windows of heaven for you and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it. 11 And I will rebuke the devourer [insects and plagues] for your sakes and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground, neither shall your vine drop its fruit before the time in the field, says the Lord of hosts. 12 And all nations shall call you happy and blessed, for you shall be a land of delight, says the Lord of hosts. Malachi 3:10-12 AMP

King David was blessed and a blessing because of God’s goodness toward him and because he trusted in Him:

The king [David] shall joy in Your strength, O Lord; and in Your salvation how greatly shall he rejoice! 2 You have given him his heart’s desire and have not withheld the request of his lips. Selah [pause, and think of that]! 3 For You send blessings of good things to meet him; You set a crown of pure gold on his head. 4 He asked life of You, and You gave it to him — long life forever and evermore. 5 His glory is great because of Your aid; splendor and majesty You bestow upon him. 6 For You make him to be blessed and a blessing forever; You make him exceedingly glad with the joy of Your presence.
Psalms 21:1-6 AMP

Jesus Christ has redeemed us from the curse of the law, so that we can ALL receive the blessing of Abraham:

Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree: 14 That the blessing of Abraham might come on the Gentiles through Jesus Christ; that we might receive the promise of the Spirit through faith.  Galatians 3:13-14 KJV

We are called to inherit a blessing, so we must BE a blessing:

Finally, all of you be of one mind, having compassion for one another; love as brothers, be tenderhearted, be courteous; 9 not returning evil for evil or reviling for reviling, but on the contrary blessing, knowing that you were called to this, that you may inherit a blessing.  1 Peter 3:8-9 NKJV
