Foundation Scriptures:

And being let go, they went to their own company, and reported all that the chief priests and elders had said unto them. 24 And when they heard that, they lifted up their voice to God with one accord, and said, Lord, thou art God, which hast made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and all that in them is: 25 Who by the mouth of thy servant David hast said, Why did the heathen rage, and the people imagine vain things? 26 The kings of the earth stood up, and the rulers were gathered together against the Lord, and against his Christ. 27 For of a truth against thy holy child Jesus, whom thou hast anointed, both Herod, and Pontius Pilate, with the Gentiles, and the people of Israel, were gathered together, 28 For to do whatsoever thy hand and thy counsel determined before to be done. 29 And now, Lord, behold their threatenings: and grant unto thy servants, that with all boldness they may speak thy word, 30 By stretching forth thine hand to heal; and that signs and wonders may be done by the name of thy holy child Jesus. 31 And when they had prayed, the place was shaken where they were assembled together; and they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and they spake the word of God with boldness.

Acts 4:23-31 KJV

1. The Value of the Right Company.

a. Proverbs 13:20 KJV –– He that walketh with wise men shall be wise.

b. 1 Corinthians 15:33 KJV ––  Evil communications corrupt good manners.

c. The company you keep makes all the difference in the world.

d. It determines the success or failure of all concerned.

e. Acts 4:23 literally says that they, “went to their own.”

f. We need one another; we all need to be part of a community of like-minded people, who love and care for one another.

g. Peter and John did not give up, nor try to go it alone; they went to the saints.

h. There is great power available in corporate prayer and Holy Ghost unity.

2. The Church is a Living Company.

a. Acts 2:1 KJV ––  They were all with one accord in one place.

b. Acts 2:42 KJV ––  They continued steadfastly in the apostles’ doctrine and fellowship.

c. Hebrews 10:25 KJV ––  Not forsaking the assembling of ourselves together.

d. Revival power manifests when believers gather in unity—not isolation.

e. Unity requires agreement.

f. We don’t need to be exactly alike; our differences are an asset, but we need to learn to work and flow together.

g. This is only possible when we walk in humility, love, and truth.

h. We need to be able to trust our company enough to be able to be transparent concerning situations we face.

i. Peter and John knew that when they reported the situation to the others, they would find understanding, help, and solutions.

j. They knew that even if they, or the others, did not have all the answers, they knew Who did.

k. As a united body, they did not complain or panic; but “they lifted up their voice to God with one accord” (Acts 4:24).

l. Prayer was their first response, not their last resort.

3. The Corporate Prayer Pattern.

a. Acts 4:24–26

b. They magnified the Creator, not the crisis, exalting God above man’s threats.

c. They prayed the Word, quoting Psalm 2:1-2.

d. Power comes when prayer is Word-based, not emotion based.

e. They asked for boldness, not escape (Acts 4:29).

f. The answer to persecution was not retreat but greater courage.

4. The Place Was Shaken.

a. When they prayed, the place was shaken (Acts 4:31).

b. There was a physical manifestation of spiritual power.

c. Heaven responds to unified prayer with visible demonstration.

d. Then they were all filled with the Holy Ghost.

e. Pentecost wasn’t a one-time event; it’s an ongoing experience.

f. Ephesians 5:18 says “Be filled [continually] with the Spirit.”

g. Acts 5:12–14 KJV ––  By the hands of the apostles were many signs and wonders wrought… and believers were the more added to the Lord.

h. The shaking produced fresh boldness and greater harvest.

5. Stronger Together.

a. Acts 1:14 KJV ––  These all continued with one accord in prayer.

b. All that believed were together and had all things common…and the Lord added to the Church (Acts 2:44–47).

c. Peter was released from prison and “came to the house of Mary… where many were gathered together praying” (Acts 12:5;12-17).

d. Nothing has changed from then till now; this is the pattern we are to follow.

e. We are still living in the Book of Acts, and our stories are being written down in Heaven.

f. In these last days, being part of a like-minded company is more important than ever.

g. Acts 13:1-3 tells us that as certain prophets and teachers in Antioch ministered to the Lord and fasted, the Spirit said, “Separate me Barnabas and Saul.”

h. Every major move of the Spirit in Acts came out of the right company gathered in prayer.

6. Who Is Your Company?

a. Every believer needs a Holy Ghost company.

b. Your company determines your covering, counsel, and courage.

c. Psalm 133:1,3 KJV –– Behold, how good and how pleasant it is for brethren to dwell together in unity… for there the Lord commanded the blessing.

d. Stay joined to the flow.

e. Isolation weakens; unity multiplies power.

f. When the threats increase, return to your company.

g. In times of pressure, return to your people, report, pray, and expect the shaking; expect the Lord to show up and move on your behalf.

h. May every gathering of believers be filled again, shaken again, empowered again, and sent again!
