Foundation Scripture:

Then he called his twelve disciples together, and gave them power and authority over all devils, and to cure diseases. Luke 9:1 KJV

1. Deliverance in the Harvest Field.

a. Deliverance is not a side issue in evangelism.

b. It is a natural consequence of light confronting darkness.

c. Ephesians 5:13a NKJV –– But all things that are exposed are made manifest by the light…

d. When the Gospel is preached with authority, bondage reacts and demons are exposed.

e. Freedom manifests and the work of the devil is destroyed.

f. 1 John 3:8b KJV –– For this purpose the Son of God was manifested, that he might destroy the works of the devil.

g. The evangelist understands this reality: where Christ is lifted up, Satan’s grip loosens.

2. Evangelism Invades Enemy Territory.

a. The harvest field is not neutral ground.

b. Jesus described it clearly: “The whole world lieth in wickedness” (1 John 5:19 KJV).

d. Evangelistic preaching pushes the Kingdom of God into territory long dominated by darkness.

e. When authority enters, resistance surfaces, but cannot prevail.

f. Deliverance is not disruption; it is eviction.

3. Jesus Cast Out Devils Publicly.

a. Deliverance was central to Jesus’ ministry.

b. Mark 1:34 KJV –– And he healed many that were sick of divers diseases, and cast out many devils…

c. Jesus did not hide deliverance or postpone it to private rooms.

d. He confronted darkness openly because freedom glorifies God.

e. The evangelist follows the same pattern.

4. Why Deliverance Manifests in Evangelistic Meetings.

a. Evangelistic meetings create three conditions that provoke deliverance:

 -  Authority is present

 -  Light is preached plainly

 -  Faith rises corporately

b. Mark 1:27 KJV –– And they were all amazed, insomuch that they questioned among themselves, saying, What thing is this? what new doctrine is this? for with authority commandeth he even the unclean spirits, and they do obey him.

c. Authority disturbs demons.

d. Light exposes hiding places.

e. Faith forces decision.

5. Deliverance Is Not the Focus—Freedom Is.

a. The evangelist does not magnify demons.

b. Mark 1:25 KJV –– And Jesus rebuked him, saying, Hold thy peace, and come out of him.

c. No conversations—no drama—no fascination—no games.

d. Authority is exercised simply, swiftly, and decisively.

e. The focus remains Christ—not the devil.

6. Why Some Resist Deliverance.

a. Deliverance confronts sin, pride, and control.

b. Some prefer bondage they can manage over freedom that demands surrender.

c. John 3:19 KJV –– …and men loved darkness rather than light, because their deeds were evil.

d. The evangelist understands this tension and continues preaching truth anyway.

e. Freedom is offered and the response is the responsibility of the hearer.

7. Deliverance and Salvation Are Connected.

a. Deliverance does not replace salvation; it supports it.

b. John 8:32 KJV –– And ye shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.

c. Freedom clears the heart so the seed of the Gospel can take root.

d. Matthew 13:24 KJV –– Then shall the kingdom of heaven be likened unto a man which sowed good seed…

e. Where bondage remains unchallenged, growth is hindered.

f. The evangelist removes obstacles so salvation can be fully received.

8. Authority Comes from Christ, Not Technique.

a. Deliverance is not a method.

b. It is authority exercised through obedience.

c. Mark 16:17 KJV –– In my name shall they cast out devils…

d. Authority is not volume.

e. It is not repetition.

f. It is not personality.

g. It is delegated power grounded in the finished work of Christ.

9. The Evangelist Must Remain Calm and Commanding.

a. Deliverance does not require emotion, it requires authority.

b. Mark 4:39 KJV –– Peace, be still.

c. The evangelist remains steady because chaos does not intimidate him.

d. He knows the outcome before the confrontation begins.

e. Jesus never struggled with demons, and neither should His servants.

10. Deliverance Produces Immediate Testimony.

a. Mark 5:15 KJV –– And they come to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

b. Freedom is visible.

c. John 9:8 KJV –– And the people said, Is not this he that sat and begged?

d. When chains break publicly, doubt collapses privately.

e. Deliverance becomes testimony, and testimony fuels faith.

f. This is why cities change when evangelists arrive.

11. Deliverance Must Lead to Discipleship.

a. Freedom without filling invites return.

b. Matthew 12:45 KJV –– Then goeth he, and taketh with himself seven other spirits more wicked than himself, and they enter in and dwell there: and the last state of that man is worse than the first.

c. The evangelist ensures that deliverance is followed by:

-   Repentance

-   Infilling of the Holy Ghost

-   Teaching—renewing of the mind

-   Fellowship

d. Freedom is maintained through obedience and relationship with God.

12. This Truth Restores Authority to the Church.

a. Deliverance is not extreme—it is biblical.

b. The Church does not advance by ignoring darkness.

c. It advances by confronting it with truth and power.

d. When the evangelist preaches Christ fully, darkness does not negotiate—it leaves.

e. Because freedom is not requested from the enemy—it is enforced by the authority of Jesus Christ.
